I came here for the first time today and the food was amazing! Very delicious and authentic Haitian cuisine, the banan peze was perfectly crispy (the best I ever had in South Florida). I really like the twist on their macaroni, very tasty and different! I recommend this place!

After searching high and low for over an hour for an authentic, good Haitian restaurant with a weekend favorite, Fritay, we stumbled across "A Taste of Caribbean" (name translated to English). The location is in a plaza off of State Rd 7/441 in North Lauderdale (plaza near the overpass) tucked toward the center (left side) of the plaza. It's easily missed...Don't Miss It!From the customer service, esthetic (cute date spot...clean, chic decor) of the restaurant we’re glad we found this place! We ordered a Fried Red Snapper large Fritay platter which comes with Haitian Mac & Cheese, Accra, Plantains and more. The entire family, from the toddler to adults, enjoyed everything. This restaurant a hidden gem it’s a must try, by far the Best Haitian food we’ve had since relocating to SF.

Small businesses are most often the best . This restaurant is one of them, top customer service , food is ready in a timely manner, prices are also very good and you get your money’s worth. This is the only Haitian restaurant I’ve been to that gives you griot complete… I mean fried pork, fried plantains, pikliz, rice and a little bit of Mac and cheese ( be aware it’s not Haitian style Mac and cheese). But food is pretty much decent,,,, worth trying!

Restaurant Review: A Hidden Gem of Haitian Cuisine in North LauderdaleI often find myself in search of delightful culinary experiences, and my recent visit to a charming restaurant in North Lauderdale was nothing short of a revelation. With Thanksgiving in the air and my daughter back home, we were on a mission for a comforting meal. A craving for Haitian black rice led us to this vibrant eatery, which we stumbled upon thanks to a quick Google search. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a lively Caribbean ambiance that immediately lifted our spirits. The cheerful music created an inviting atmosphere, setting the perfect backdrop for our culinary adventure. Our server, a superhero in his own right, greeted us with a warm smile that made us feel at home.Being unfamiliar with Haitian cuisine, we decided to embrace the experience and ordered the griot and chicken meals. The black rice, a highlight of our meal, was bursting with flavor and served as a delightful accompaniment to our dishes. The chicken, a generous serving that included breast, thigh, and leg, was tender and succulent, drizzled with a sauce that was nothing short of spectacular. It elevated the dish to a new level, showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of Haitian cooking.Adding to the feast were unique sides that included a unique mac and cheese that surprised and delighted us, along with perfectly ripe plantains that provided a sweet contrast to the savory main dishes. Each bite was a testament to the passion and skill that went into preparing our meals. Our experience at this restaurant was exceptional in every sense. We order to-go, but the The food was delicious, the atmosphere vibrant, and the service top-notch. I wholeheartedly give this establishment five stars across the board. If you're in North Lauderdale and craving authentic Haitian cuisine, don't miss the chance to visit this gem. You’ll leave with a full belly and a happy heart. We will be back!!
